This months meat ICON is a true ambassador for my new ethos of increased visibility for older gay men.
I saw Colin on Instagram and could not help but compliment him. He is edging towards 50 goals personified. I couldn't believe it when he said he'd come from NYC specifically for a shoot for meat ICONS. It would have been rude to refuse, so we found ourselves together in a West End rental, shooting these pictures in early December. Truthfully, we didn't talk much. Colin has a quiet, sexy confidence and is very concerned with the job at hand. For me, just shooting this guy was a great experience.
We had some challenges with the light, but I'm also embracing shadows and moody lighting this year. Why does everything need to be bright and poppy? Anyway, after the shoot, I managed to grab some time with Colin over email to talk about being gay, ageing, his newfound success as a pinup and how he maintains those hot af Science Teacher vibes. You can read what he had to say in the zine.
I hope you enjoy this issue as much as I enjoyed putting it together. If you're a regular subscriber to meat ICONS you'll notice a few pleasing changes to the monthly zine this year. I'd absolutely love to hear what you think. Also, if you have what it takes to be a meat ICON, I'd love to hear from you, whatever your age.
