We're having a Birthday! Celebrating 9 years of meat zine and 7 years of the meat party (5 of which have been at Dalston Superstore). Yeah, it's random, but we're going for it anyway, and we've got a corker in store for you. Upstairs we have meat residents. The meat boys warming up for a scene legend and one of our favourite women on the East London scene, HRH Princess Julia. Also In the bar, we have a real treat with our special guest Greg Belson. Greg has travelled the world DJ'ing for the last 30+ years. The compiler of the acclaimed Divine Disco Series on Cultures of Soul Records, Greg is a member of the 45 Live Crew and hosts the monthly Divine Chord Gospel Show on dublab.com broadcast out of his home town of Los Angeles, California. And his 'Divine Discotheque' broadcasts every Sunday morning 8am on Soho Radio, London UK. In the Laser pit, those Margate based maestros Synth System Systers will be taking one (or possibly more) for the team. We also have the one and only Chrissy. Chicago based Chrissy Shively is a genre-bending artist, once described as "one of the best DJs to ever walk the earth" by The Black Madonna. He specialises in Chicago house, disco, and rave-influenced sounds. Few contemporary artists can claim to have such a comprehensive knowledge of music and a deep insight into the modern dance community as Chrissy. As a highly regarded voice in the industry, Chrissy ran the popular My Year of Mixtapes and My Year of Edits blogs, posting original genre-focused DJ mixes and disco re-edits every week for a year. He also wrote the liner notes for Hardcore Traxx: Dance Mania Records 1986-1997, a compilation of classic Chicago ghetto house on Strut Records. Our hosts for the evening are the incomparable scene-stealer BARBS and porn superstar Ashley Ryder PLUS we have bar dancing from Max The Hybrid.
